The Carter Center said he died in his sleep in his Dallas home.
His family released a statement that read, “Our father was an outstanding leader, a committed friend, and an inspiration.
His vision, wisdom, and leadership of our country and the world will live on as a beacon of light in our time.”

In addition to his wife and daughter Katie, former President Bill Clinton, his wife Hillary, and other family members are among the dozens of people who attended the ceremony.
